A side effect is just a part of any medication and so is the case
with Piracetam.Piracetam is used to enhance the learning and
increased memory power in the patients. Not only this, it also
protects the brain from any other physical injury or the chemical
ones. They also posses extremely low toxicity. Some of the very
common side effects with Piracetam are the nausea, dizziness and
headaches. This may be experienced when the medication is just
started and may slow down with time. In extreme conditions the
doctor should be consulted.
Piracetam or the Nootropil should not be used by the patients
suffering from renal inefficiency. The reason for this is that
Piracetam is eliminated through the urine and so due precautions are
necessary. This drug does not assures and grantees the safety if
consumed during pregnancy or while beast feeding. As such it has
shown not adverse effects when treated on animals, still it is
better to avoid Piracetam while pregnancy and breast feeding unless
prescribed by the doctor and its advantage out weighs the risk it
may cause to the baby.
Piracetam should not be used with thyroid hormone extracts that is
the T3 and T4.the reason for this is that there have been cases
where the combination of these two drugs have caused problems like
state of confussion, irritability and sleeping disorders. None of
the side effects of this drug are a major problem. They have been
experienced also by just 1% of patients consuming it. These side
effects are more of precautions and can be looked after easily.
